We rarely eat these McDonald's Sausage Egg McMuffin's or any fast food. We maybe eat these sandwiches a couple times per year because it's just plain bad for you lol. (Plus we cook 95% of our food at home, costing less and tasting better.)
We don't buy these from McDonald's with the eggs in them. We buy the same thing without the egg. Sausage w/ cheese McMuffin. It costs $1.09 for this compared to the same thing with the egg which costs $3.49 each. Can you believe they charge $2.50 for a single egg? LOL.
I had my BF pick up 5 @ $1.09, two for him, two for me and one for the dog. While he was getting them, I put some butter in frying pan, cracked 5 whole eggs into the pan, popped the yolks and cooked them like a big pancake/omelette.. no scrambling. I did the one handed pan flip thing -- with conviction as Julia Child says -- to flip it over; I'm pretty good at it and do it all the time for frittata's etc. Anyways I used a mason jar lid ring (metal) as a "cookie cutter" and cut 5 eggs out of this egg pancake. Turns out they are exactly the same size as McDonald's eggs in the McMuffin and taste identical to McDonald's in the sandwich.
So it came to like $6 instead of $17.50. Savings of like $11.50. (Eggs are about 10 cents a piece here.)
Just thought I'd share in case anyone ever gets the desire to eat an egg mcmuffin and don't mind cooking for couple minutes to supplement the sausage cheese mcmuffs.`
