I got a mailing for a Financial Educators Network course locally.
6 hours for $49.

I was tempted to go and troll/be a dick, but $49 and 6 hours of my life seems excessive. Especially when the Internet is free for that purpose.

Do these specific people have a place in the financial education/retirement community?

For your responses, although I despise Edward Jones et al , I would remind you that for some people ANYTHING investment-wise is better than nothing.
I have a cousin-in-law who has an EJ franchise, and I appreciate the fact that she understands that her major gift is to peel people off the ceiling and tell people to relax when the market dips/crashes.
