Using Uber/Lyft without a smart phone
« on: October 28, 2016, 01:48:30 PM »
I volunteer at an organization that provides free services for seniors.
the most popular service call is a ride to doctor's appointments.
I found myself wondering how a senior could use Uber/Lyft without owning a smart phone.
a quick Google search found out that a 3rd party service exists.
the way it works is you call a phone number and the CSR on the other side types all your information into the web-based reservation system.

"landline with an online service called GoGoGrandparent. I have not tried this service and it might not be available everywhere, but here is the link for more information on that.  Here is the phone number to call to get more information Call (855) 464-6872."

I haven't used the service, so I can't vouch for how well it works.
It doesn't seem to be a scam as far as I can tell.
But it sounds like a great solution to help expand the reach of ride-sharing to a market demographic that really needs it.

I didn't know you could do that.

Thanks for sharing.
