SPG Personal Referral Thread (35k bonus)

The Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) personal credit card from American Express has recently increased its signup bonus to:

• 25,000 points for $3,000 spend in the first 3 months
• 10,000 additional points for an additional $2,000 spend in the first 6 months

After the 5k in spend, you would be left with 40,000 SPG points which can be pretty lucrative. The annual fee is waived for the first year. These points can be redeemed for:

• Several nights in Starwood properties (nice ones usually in the range of 7k-10k a night, but you also get the 5th night free)
• 1:3 transfer to Marriott (40k SPG gets you 120K Marriott)
• 5k bonus on a 20k transfer to various partners (20k SPG gets you 25k AA miles)

Points can also be combined with another account at the same address for free, in 1k increments.

Thank you for this! I applied this weekend and was auto-approved using your link. I shopped around a bit and this looks like a great deal! RJBizz , used your link for the application and was approved. Was a little nervous because I've been doing a bit of churning lately and have a bunch of recent inquiries, but I read that AMEX does not do a hard pull so I went for it.
