Parking in Washington DC
« on: November 28, 2016, 05:36:30 PM »
Fellow Mustachians

I have to be in DC for work in December for one week.  I'm staying at a hotel on 900 F St. NW near the Washington Convention Center.  I have to have a car and have to use it daily.  The hotel charges outrageous prices for parking.

Anyone have any recommended parking garages near that area with in-and-out privileges for a decent rate??

Thanks.  I will check it out.  I have not heard of that one.  I have used Parking Panda but they typically do not allow reentry and therefore would not be worth it in this case since I have to take the car each day.  I will check out Spot Hero though.

Not sure of your exact driving needs, but there are many new options for renting cars. You may not need to keep the same car all day and night. Have you considered just renting on an hourly or daily basis?  A zip car or car to go membership may be cheaper than one night parking, and then you can just drop off and pick up cars as needed.  There may be another option that works rather than the traditional. Also check into car sharing. There are many people who live here that rent out their cars on daily basis.

Thanks for the tip.  Unfortunately I will have my own vehicle with me.  I arrive this evening and have to use the car each night.  Basically I guess I'm looking for overnight parking at a cheap rate.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
