Opening two new savings accounts - referral codes?
« on: December 27, 2016, 11:36:27 AM »
My kids got nice monetary gifts for the holidays and have agreed to each start a savings account with it. What are the best current deals / does anyone have a referral code so we can both benefit?

Please and thanks.

ETA: I'm in the U.S.

But those are only available in Canada, right?

I have been very happy with Capitol One.  Not sure how their rates compare to others, though.

Here is my referral link, if you choose to go with CapOne.  Thanks.

Dang it! Capital One's initial deposit amount is more than each kid has :(

I thought there is no minimum balance for either checking or savings...

Yeah, to get bonuses (for you and for me), you'd have to deposit a min of $250.  But, otherwise, there is no minimum required.

One nice feature of Cap One is the you can open several (there is probably a max number, but I don't know what it is) savings accounts and give each one a name.  So it could be fun if you were to open a checking account for yourself and then create a savings account for each kid.

Just a thought.  Have fun, whatever you do!
