New(ish) Capital One savings account/better rate
« on: November 15, 2016, 04:41:55 PM »
I got snail mail from Capital One, offering a savings account at 1% (for accounts over $10k).  Since we keep a couple year's expenses there (post FIRE), it'll earn a bit more.  I called to ask questions, and they switched it while I was on the phone to the Capital One Money Market.

I know Ally offers a similar rate, but I haven't wanted to switch do to also needing access to my Mother's account at Capital One.

Man, I miss those 4% days!

Is the money market FDIC insured? I didn't think it was.

I have been using Discover online savings at .95% for quite awhile.
