I actually had a positive airline experience
« on: October 25, 2016, 04:45:04 PM »
My father passed away yesterday, and I have spent the day in a fog of travel and funeral arrangements. Knowing I had to fly out immediately, I was expecting exorbitant costs. Searched around, found the best ones on Kayak. Then I called around to the airlines for their bereavement fares. Most of them are non-existent or bullshit, but I ended up having a very positive experience with Delta. They didn't even ask me for the hospital or funeral home name, and quoted me a price well below the fairly decent Kayak price. Ticket is also fully refundable. So thanks, Delta, for making a horrible time a little less horrible.

We also flew Delta on last minute flights due to a death in the family.  We also found them to be very responsive.  So glad that they were able to help out, but so sorry for your loss!
