I have been watching flights to Taiwan for the last few weeks. Finally got the dates I wanted. I tried all the search engines and sites. Nothing beat Kayak, but... you have to fiddle around with it. I would sometimes get different results changing the amount of passengers and dates and back again. 2 weeks ago I got the $500 fare to show up, and didn't jump on it. Then it went to $595. Still not bad, but I want the deal I know exists! And so I waited... and checked a few times a day. And got my ticket tonight!
* I have enough AMEX Membership Rewards to transfer and book with miles... but, it isn't cost effective. It is 75k miles, plus ~$50. Those miles/points are worth more than 1c each, (I sold 50k for $625 last year). Better to book with $$.
** $505 doesn't include the 3% cash back from the card I used :) So under 500 r/t to Asia?? What a deal.
