Churning: Bank of America Cash Rewards Sign Up Bonus Increase
« on: January 02, 2016, 01:53:58 PM »
I just am wrapping up the AMEX PR card spending and saw this offer posted on Doctor of Credit - BoA Cash Rewards card, $175 reward for spending $500 in three months. No annual fee.

http://www.doctorofcredit.com/bank-of-america-cash-rewards-sign-up-bonus-increased-to-175-after-500-in-spend/

I signed up this morning and was approved, though the website was acting up and I could never actually access the confirmation screen. It was greyed out while *something* was loading, but I was able to see that I was approved and for the amount.

Hmm... tempting. I'd especially like to take advantage of the "combining hard pulls" thing. I currently have no cards with BoA, so I think I could easily be approved for two applied for at the same time. I'd love to find another "partner" card with a higher bonus offer, but it looks like I could also get their normal card and snatch an extra $100 for $500 spend:

$275 for $1000 spend with 1 credit pull isn't bad!

Thank you for posting. I saw the post at doctor of credit, but for some reason only honed in on American Bar Association and considered myself ineligible.

I have been looking for a card with no more than 500 spending requirement and $200 bonus and no foreign exchange fee. I wonder if there is such a thing? I do like the 2% for groceries and gas that adds up over time.

My wife got an offer on this card from the NEA recently which was for $200 signup bonus.

Not bad for those that are teachers although it might be a targeted mailing.

The Chase AARP card gives $200 back after $500 spend, with 3% at restaurants and gas stations, but unfortunately it does have a foreign transaction fee.

The Visa BOA Cash Card is great.  $100 bonus for $500 spend.  If you have a BOA checking account you get an extra 10% on any bonus deposited in that account from a BOA card.

So I opened a BOA checking account ($250 bonus for using bill pay and having 2 direct deposits over $1,000).

Did BOA cash card, so got $110 for the signup bonus.

Was able to sign up for a 2nd BOA cash card to get an additional $110 signup bonus.  Haven't tried for a 3rd one yet ;)

So $470 for minimal hassle.  Plus the credit card is 2% on groceries and 3% on gas.

I just got the BoA card in the mail today, so will be hitting the minimum spend on Monday just paying for my kid's before/after care. My husband thought the ABA thing was hilarious. I can fake being a high class lolyer or something.

The AARP card looks good, but I still want to apply for the CSP. I think my husband will have to take the hard pull bullet on the AARP card.

Last few weeks of churning/ms/deal stacking have been great! Not sure why I didn't get serious about this hobby sooner.

I already have this BOA cash rewards card since about eight years ago...will this work if I apply for a second one, or do I have to close my existing first?

I just went for this (with the AICPA $175 bonus card, and the regular BoA $100 bonus card) - should be an easy $275 with no need to manufacture spend!

I signed my husband up for the AICPA card but was placed under review. It took nearly an hour of transferring through different agents to verify his ID. PITA, particularly since BoA recon line is open only M-F 8am-9pm EST. We work/commute from 7am to 6pm PST, so effectively, there is no time to call them but during work.

We also had the problem that a lot of the recon numbers we saw online for BoA were incorrect. 888.221.6262 was the one that worked.

Anyway, he was approved in the end for that card.

Chase (AARP) also stuck him in review. It wasn't able to be resolved over the phone. He has to fax in his driver's license. See what happens with that.

Thank you - I'll check it out, possibly for both of us. Turns out that Capital One cards incl their debit card has no foreign transaction fees - so I can use their debit card or my CU Visa which also does not have a fee - but I would like to replace that card and close my account with them - so I've been looking.
3% on restaurant and gas is awesome:)

Chase just invited me to invite friends to get a credit card. The bonus is $150 if you sign up and spend at least $500 within 3 months. Full disclosure, for each person that does so, Chase will pay me $50 up to $500 (for 10 friends). If you are interested in this, just PM me your first name and email address.

The website says it can take up to 7 days to receive the email...but probably immediately is more likely.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
