Cheddars -- what a deal!
« on: August 25, 2014, 10:29:51 AM »
I don't frequent restaurants, but we visited a relative 90 miles from home who was in the hospital.

Wife says --"Let's go out to eat."   Husband says --"Whatever you want dear."

So she picks Cheddars.   I was impressed with the casual dinning environment and the excellent service.  But most impressive was the low cost.   I really don't know how they do it.  I'm Paleo so I ordered the house salad which came with 4 side dishes for $6.50.   My wife had chicken breast with rice and a side of broccoli for like $7.    I kinda added up what it would have cost me to purchase all the items at the store and it was not that much cheaper than our ticket.  Plus the food was cooked perfect.

So if you're eating out,  I suggest Cheddars.   We walked out with a total of $14 for a very nice meal and a break from our daily cooking activities.   Oh and the wife doggy bagged half her meal!

I love Cheddars.  And I agree, they are a much better deal than other similar types of restaurants.  I have had their Baked Spasagna (lasagna made with spaghetti noodles) and it is huge.  I eat it there, and then have enough left over for 2 more meals later.

We have one in our town and its one of our favorites.  Their fried shrimp is just as good as red lobster and a lot cheaper.

Blackened catfish with sides is my favorite at Cheddars or the Vegetable Plate. Very affordable. My brother-in-law used to work as a manager for Cheddars. He said they wouldn't build a new restaurant, until they had the cash to do it.

Interesting!   So it appears they have a bit of the Mustachian in them?  No wonder they are able to keep their prices so low. Takes a lot of forethought in the restaurant business to wait until you actually have the money.  I will be a Cheddars supporter more frequently now that I know that.
