80,000 bonus points for Marriott card
« on: July 08, 2015, 12:40:55 PM »
I have this card, got it when it was 70k bonus.

The family and I just spent 3 days and nights visiting Niagara falls, completely free (for the room). We used 75k bonus points. What I did was get a room that has a kitchen, then we cooked all our own meals.

While the fee is a bit offputting... I must admit, I got one earlier today. I spend enough time in Marriott hotels (platinum on the client's dime for 5 years), might as well since the benefits will outweigh the costs when I take the family with me.

I think (if this is the same deal) the 70k card is better.  You can cancel to avoid the annual fee of $85 on the 70k card, you cannot on the 80k card.  10k more points is not worth $85.

The 75,000 offer on the Citi Hilton card is also pretty solid since it has no annual fee.
