$450 in Visa Gift manufactured spending - net negative fees!
« on: October 21, 2015, 02:22:26 AM »
Haven't tried either yet but plan to do both to push me over my $3k threshold for CitiPrestige.  Not sure how much a $200 Visa GC is at BB&B but if it's less than $12.48 - you actually come out on this!

GiftCardMall.com has a promotion code for $3 off $250 Visa gift cards.  And Bed Bath and Beyond will sell $200
Visa gift cards with a $15 mail-in rebate!

FYI at giftcardmall you can order up to 7 gift cards and get $21 back per order.  I bought $2000 worth of gift cards.

Amex Serve at Walmart or Family Dollar.  It used to work with Redbird at Target.  Don't purchase a bunch of gift cards until you're confident it will work locally, and always be prepared that this form of manufactured spending can be shut down without notice.

Just checking, I'm not close to a Wal-Mart or Family Dollar.

Just buy Amazon gift cards. You can liquidate those pretty close to their value....

Sell them on Ebay? Sell them to Friends? use them yourself?

It's hard to find amazon gift cards at a discount, hence it shouldn't be too hard to liquidate them at a slight loss or no loss....

Amazon GC isn't the path I'd take.  You'd only get 65% face value through a reseller like MonsterGiftCard.  Paypal and eBay would take their cut so you might clear 85%.

Might want to look into NW Buxx as a simpler ( better? ) option. You can load the prepaid debit card with your citi card and then pay your balance off with the same debit card. ( Citi only ). Chase, you can withdraw from certain ATMs free, deposit in bank account, then pay off balance. Visa/MC only.

For AMEX minimum spend limits, go with Serve instead.

I couldn't get the pumpkinspice promotion to work but GiftCardMall is running a promotion where they take the 5.95 fee off using code CYBERWEEK15.  I ordered two $250 gift cards and took off the fee for both.
