Windows Updates

I need to vent.  What is with Windows updates?  Windows 7 update just hangs and never completes.  Windows 10 seems to update constantly.
Why can't they get this figured out?  Why does it take so long for a stupid update to complete?  So frustrating.
If you wait too long to do updates it just gets absurd with re-boots and waiting. 

I usually use Ubuntu but keep Windows on different boot disks just in case.  Ubuntu updates only take a short time and always work.

Your update software may be out of date or otherwise messed up. Mine was, and my dad (an IT guy) was able to fix it, but I don't remember what he did. But yeah, Microsoft Tuesday is annoying.
