I think due to increased polarization and lower voter turnout elections are increasingly about getting one's base to show up as opposed to getting swing/independent voters to vote for your candidate. Vote and discuss.

My suspicion is that the GOP is going to stay home, because two of the three potential candidates are too horrible to seriously consider voting into office. The Democrats will turn out, if only to vote against the GOP candidate. The Democratic candidate will win the election, but I have my doubts that either Hilatron or Sanders can keep the oval office in 2020.

I'd love to see Kasich get the nomination, but that's becoming more and more unlikely. Maybe he'll have a shot in 2020.
