There was a dog in my yoga class!
He was a therapy dog in training and was having a hard time finding inner peace.  He growled and chewed on his trainer's arm and rolled around.  Lots of fun.

That is amazing!  There is a cat shelter near here that offers yoga classes while the cats roam around the room.  It helps the cats to socialize and exposes them to potential adopters, all while making the people so happy.  The classes get booked really far in advance, but I want to do it one of these days!

That's a brilliant idea!   Hopefully makes some money for the shelter too.  Win - Win.

Enjoying this cup of tea by the fire. I got through my whole to do list today. I'm drinking all my non-favourite teas to use up my stash before I buy any new tea. Feels very rewarding.

Have a cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself, but I've summoned up the energy to clean my bathroom and that makes me feel a little better. The world is much brighter with a clean house!

Snow day! 2nd one in a row. Sometimes it's great being a teacher.

Yesss!  Our office is closed for snow today too.

I came downstairs, brushed some ash off the embers in the fireplace and threw on fresh wood.  Fire started going nicely without any babysitting.  Yes, that makes my day.

Was getting sick, but got plenty of rest and started drinking the fire cider I made a couple months ago, and woke up feeling much better.  Hoping I really did kick this cold without actually getting *sick*.

Usual packed out train going home was cancelled further up the line and departed from another platform at my station that I interchange at.

Replacement train is totally empty. I have 6 seats to myself and I'm making the most of it :D

Walked into my local whole foods market and was greeted by the board members and the owner. They gave us free food and wanted our input. We're members there, so it was nice to meet the peeps in charge. That made us feel special.

Marching today--probably at the same time as many of the Chicago 9.  Was very pleased at the turnout in my small town.  And the vibe was great.  Badass and determined, yet kind and generous and hopeful and loving, if that makes sense.

Yes! It was nice to know other folks met IRL were marching at other locations! Gave me a much bigger sense of community.

Not today, but on Sunday, the college where I work had winter commencement. And a student came in with little boxes of candy for the library staff. She said it was for all the help we'd given her during her time at the school. :)

Worn bead seals. I just bought the truck and 3/4 had slow leaks. They checked the 4th as well. Spare tire had good pressure so they didn't need to fix it also.

I got my wallet out to pay, he said you can put that away, it was an easy fix and it's on us.  Made my day. :)

A friend came over yesterday for a lovely but frugal catch up. She brought snacks since she'd been experimenting with new recipes, and we drank iced water because it was so bloody hot.

She plopped on my lounge, put her feet on the coffee table, then caught herself and said, "Oh, is that ok???"

"What, and ruin my $10 coffee table? :D Go for it!"

Coffee mugs, feet, matchbox car races with friends' kids... anything goes.

(Funnily enough, some of those kids belong to friends who have a trendy melamine coffee table. It can't get wet, can't get hot, and is so unstable they have to tighten the legs every couple of weeks. Why you would buy that with a three-year-old in the house is beyond me.)

Went to bed last night at 9:15pm because the Pats were losing so why bother.  Got up this morning to see my FB feed exploding.  I am not really a sports fan, but everyone at work is happy when they win so I guess I am too.

I was rooting for the Falcons, but I think last night was one of the most epic 4th quarters of football I've ever seen and I felt lucky to watch it. So it might not be so much that everyone is a Patriots fan (though your office might be), but that many of us football fans had a great time last night. Incredible game.  Also, it was funny to hear the crowd boo Goddell while he was forced to hand over the trophy. I don't have to be a Patriots fan to enjoy that, either.

Borrowed older friend's truck for a chore. Completed chore. Replaced the fan belts on the truck for the friend with our eldest child. Returned truck. Friend was very happy for the maintenance at no cost to them. No truck rental for us. Watched our dogs play and chase around the yard. Good chat with friend. Happiness found me at  every stage of the process. Very tired.

Making a friend's day :-)
She's moving to Oz but has no summer clothes, so I open up my closet to her and let her pick what she wanted. Now thanks to my thrift store problem habit she has what she needs to look good while staying fresh.
I even got extra good-mood points as she commented how nice the clothes were, especially fabric-wise.

Yesterday, my friend was driving and saw a women about to jump off a bridge and hang herself (noose around neck tied truck).

He stopped and was able to grab her arm as she jumped.  She screamed for him to let go.  Luckily, another person stopped and helped him pull her up.

That made my day.

I got a surprise text today from a girl I've been wanting to ask out!!

I haven't talked to her in a while...last time we talked it seemed like she was getting pretty distant and I thought maybe she wasn't interested.

I have no idea what this means, but it's cool to hear from her. Maybe she's just being friendly and this feeling will wear off sooner rather than later...but right now it feels pretty good to hear from her lol.

Everyone was up and out of the house on time this morn.

The most challenging child apparently sleep well and enough - and was friendly this morning, even enthusiastic about school.

FINALLY the poison ivy that they got into recently is fading. Never saw someone react so badly to it. Two doc visits, cremes and shots later he's on the path to normal. This did not help his attitude about waking up on schedule or going to school. Some tough mornings leading up to the poison ivy and then some really tough mornings exacerbated by the poison ivy after-effects.

This morning was easy... And I was still five minutes late. Doesn't matter, no fixed arrival or departure times.

Took the motorcycle to the gun range. A bit wet yet, and more crowded than I expected, but a fantastic day anyway.
