I haven't been listening to many albums lately.  I usually put my Google Music library on shuffle.  Looking at some of the the "recently played" songs:
Against Me,            Van Halen
The Dear Hunter,    The Flaming Lips
Thin Lizzy,              Queen
Thursday,                Japandroids
Kendrick Lamar,      Kacey Musgraves

Some of my favorite bands include:
Thursday
Tom Petty
Taking Back Sunday
Metallica
Megadeath
Ryan Bingham

I'm definitely going to check out some of the bands listed in this thread.  Thanks.

Sound of Silence -- Disturbed

Power vocal.  Got teary-eyed.

I was worried that I'd no longer like the Simon and Garfunkel versions (as young guys and old guys), but I still like those (not as much as the Disturbed version).

An older one, but a good one nonetheless.

Fluke - Slap It (Untitled V3)

Some of you may recognize this from the Matrix Reloaded OST, it's the theme from the Zion rave scene. A little something to make Friday afternoon at work a little more epic!

They were amaaaaaaaaaaaazing! They were so enthusiastic and fun. I briefly and accidentally joined the mosh pit, picked up their new cd, got my foot stepped on by an giant, and headbanged so hard I hurt my neck. It was great.

Too bad Katie left the band recently, but I hope they continue to put out music that's just as great as their first two albums. Excellent music.

I have terabytes of Mp3s and karaoke music. Ironically, I listen to Pandora most of the time. I used to spend a rather ridiculous amount of time organizing and setting up playlists. Maybe I got older or maybe I just got bored with it.

While my fiance  and I were on our annual Seattle trip, I put on Celine Dion on Pandora and we had a lot of fun singing all of those 'old' songs of her's and Whitney Houston. My 11 year old daughter hadn't heard anything like that before and really got into it.

A few days ago I made a Rob Zombie station and played some Counter Strike: Source. I had the head phones on with the music cranked up. It was a nice little escape.

For some reason reason this song reminds me of the movie Willow. I think they may have sampled the village music.

My local library has a subscription to "Overdrive" which is an online library of ebooks and audio books. I can download an app, "checkout" an audio book, and enjoy :)

In they past two weeks I've listened to:

"Life after Death" by Deepak Chopra
"Wuthering Height" by Emily Bronte
and almost done with "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson

ever since I discovered this at my library, the number of books I go through has increased immensely. I may be done with all the classics in their library by the end of the year. :P
We have received an offer to join the Peace Corps, and will be heading out in the second half of 2017. We'll be writing a newsletter to send out when we can here:

FINSTERFORST - Mach Dich Frei - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLvjCzMrDps

English translation - http://lyricstranslate.com/en/mach-dich-frei-free-yourself.html-0

The video has a mustachian feel to me especially with the lyrics. It speaks to me anyway. When I discovered FI was an option and the way everyone is expected to live their life working a job they hate until 65 wasn't the only way I got mad and motivated. And I feel we kind of are a revolution. A relatively quiet one but in the years I have discovered it I know quite a few others who are slowly waking up as well. Maybe not quite to our level but realizing spending money isn't the best way to be happy.

This reminds me of bootcamp. I just graduated when it came out. You know when we didn't have to take our shoes off and there wasnt any lines in the airport and the NSA didn't read every text on your phone. You know when we were actually at peace. When the military was full of guys like me just looking for adventure and college money and werent on some antiterrorism holy crusade. I hope we can undo some madness

I am on YouTube listening to Focus@will videos.  My favorite so far is:

Ambient Music for Study • Work • Focus • Concentration • 1 Hour
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp78Yu1LYvo

I really enjoy this channel and the music produced because the tracks are geared towards focus and concentration.  When I listen to the music, I can more easily get into the zone and get my work done.

I also listen when I want to relax or am doing a task that can be stimulated by music.  It's great for projects, chilling out, and even works as good background music when surfing the forum. :)
