I just dumped a bunch of remixes/mashups I have made over the last 6 years into a collection. Mostly electronic/breakbeat. It's on Bandcamp as a free download if anyone wants to hear it.

This song has been wedged firmly in my brainpan for the past week plus... and I can't get it out. Maybe knowing someone else who's got the charming little earworm stuck in their head will help.

Hadjadoo hadjadoo hadjadoo. (Yes, I purposefully mispelled it. It's funnier that way.)

"Let It Go" from the Frozen movie soundtrack.  Apparently it won an Oscar.

Also this girl does an amazing cover of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CXqWVWHW8dA

Here's a bunch of different covers/versions of it: http://popwatch.ew.com/2014/03/03/frozen-let-it-go-oscars-youtube-covers/

Let it Go (and the entire Frozen soundtrack) has been very very VERY ohmegodkillmenow popular in my house for months now.

Honestly, I like the songs and the movie a lot.  But the kids are trying their best to ruin it for us with the endless repetition.  Us and a few million other parents on the planet.

over the weekend it was a lot of jesus christ superstar. judas is my favorite in this show:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-voeq7Cebo

today it's basically this song on repeat -- "be kind, be foolish, be happy" by chuck barrister and the voices of darkness. it's on a compilation of african soul from the 70s -- the whole record is pretty good!

All of Coheed and Cambria's albums.

they seem to be a fairly polarizing band, I don't usually hear someone go "eh, they're alright"

its either "THEY'RE TERRIBLE I HATE YOU" or "THEYRE THE BEST EVER"

Holy shit, this is like Dream Theater, if they were awesome
DT is my all time favorite band.  I just saw them play live with the Berklee college choir and string sections last month.  Wow.
Never heard of pomegranatetiger before -- they do sound good.

I also just discovered goblin metal via Necrogoblikon, which hits on all cylinders:  technical metal, ridiculous lyrics and vocals, and the very deep subject matter of green subcreatures terrorizing native earthlings.

I'm definitely a coheed fan. SSTB is clearly their best work though. What's your favorite?

In the off chance that you haven't seen it, the Neverender concert series is incredible. Coheed played 4 nights in NYC all in a row, playing the 4 first albums in their entirety. They recorded those shows and released it on DVD. The live version of delirium trigger is killer.

You seen them live?

I'm flying to the east coast this summer to see one my all time favorite hardcore punk bands, United Nations. Will be seeing them in NYC on 8/2, and Philadelphia on 8/3. Nothing like flying 2800 miles to see a $10 punk show haha.

Haha thanks, will do. I have wanted to see these guys for years now and never had an opportunity. They rarely play shows, and when they do its pretty much always east coast. Meeting up with some east coast friends at the shows, and also driving up to CT to see a different set of bands on the thursday before the weekend. I'm so pumped!

I have been listening a lot to Mgła's most recent album in the past few weeks.

Whenever that l-ish character appears I always think there is something on my screen and I try to wipe it off.

It's pronounced like "w" is in English, but the second syllable is accented. So it's sort of like Mg-WAH.

Google translate does a good job of pronouncing it.

Mr. Minsc, I'm really liking the Lucy Rose album.  Thanks for introducing me to her.  Her voice reminds me an awful lot of Feist.
