I made a big batch of chakchouka -- sauteed red peppers, onions, garlic, sambal, and eventually tomato puree in a lot of oil -- and I've had it for breakfast with a fried egg and a pita for the past two days. For a change, I was patient enough to fry it slowly until everything collapsed into a red sweet umami compote. Definitely worth it.
