Weird dreams?
« on: December 11, 2015, 12:58:15 AM »
I hope this isn't too creepy, I find it funny: I had one last night where I broke into MMMs house...But he was pretty cool about it, and we had pizza. I think my brain was processing his post about bike theft and security in a VERY bizzare way. Disclaimer: real me is in no way responsible for the actions of my dream self and has no intention of housebreaking ANYWHERE or stalking anyone!

I've also had one where my bf married our best friend. I was in the wedding party but somehow the ramifications of this didn't click until just before the ceremony! I did leave at that point, but eventually they came to find me at home and we had a big fight. This was all so vivid I woke up kind of mad them. And the monkeys wandering around outside the house totally made sense. At the time.

What are some of your best/worst?

About 5 years ago I was using Chantix to try and quit smoking (if you don't know Chantix messes with your brain so its got crazy side-effects, including "weird and vivid dreams, suicidal thoughts etc")

Anyway the "weird dreams" were ABSOLUTELY happening, and they were all so vivid I'd honestly wake up every day feeling exhausted because I lived another life every night. Strange thing was they were always borderline nightmares (ie very disturbing and gruesome) but never felt like nightmares.

The best/worst one was probably the Miley Cyrus dream: Long story but ill throw down the highlight-reel:

-I was swimming in a giant lake with millions of floating dead bodies in the middle of the night and some strange underwater creatures lured me to the depths (i could breathe underwater no big deal).
-In the middle of the lake was an underwater labyrinth whose entrance encompassed heads-on-spikes and fire (the underwater kind of fire apparently)
-The creatures tell me - "make it if you can" and I enter the labyrinth, because - obvi why not?
-Proceed through said labyrinth systematically watching everyone I know/love being tortured (brutal)
-When I get to the middle, there is a Colosseum packed with more dilapidated sea monsters
-fight and kill the biggest/baddest sea monster
-crowd goes wild

*Announcer* "CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOUR PRIZE IS A DATE WITH MILEY CYRUS!!!!"
Me - "WHAT THE FU...."

*wake up*

Honestly, I often think it might be worth taking Chantix again just to experience some of those dreams again

I have had crazy messed up weird/scary dreams my whole life. When I was younger I would have reoccurring nightmares. Still to this day I have weird dreams a couple times a week, and scary ones once a week or every other. The scary ones are less common than they used to be.

Honestly it's a curse. Sometimes I wake up so scared/sad I can't fall asleep for over an hour. I can't watch anything remotely weird or frightening before bed.

If someone knows any tips for a dreamless sleep I'm all ears. I've tried many things.

This week I had a dream that I was fired from my job. I was angry (in my dream) so I went home and go to sleep. I wake up (in my dream) and see that my clock says 8:00 and I think atleast I get to sleep in since I don't have a job. I close my eyes again (in my dream), and wake up in real life and it's 6:30. The dream seemed so real, I wasn't 100% sure it was a dream. When I got to work, I was a little nervous that my boss would ask me what I was doing there because I was fired yesterday. Luckily it was just a dream.

Not a post about weird dreams, but I have had about a dozen instances where I can't remember if something happened in real life or in a dream. It's always minor stuff like did I talk with her yesterday? Did I check the mail yesterday? etc.

If you want the craziest dreams of your life slam a couple of Benadryl with a Mountain Dew and go ahead and lay down. Expect alien abduction, getting chased by Rambo Tigers, or flying like superman in a glitter g-string. Just kidding-- but I really did have very intense dreams doing that. They were so intense I had to take that ride one more time.

I've definitely had ones like that! I don't remember specifics though.

That's really unfortunate. :/

I just had a red-wine fueled dream that I was in the studio laying down guitar tracks as the producer of Hozier's next album.  Not bad at all.

I get this sometimes. Used to get it a lot when I worked and night and frequently took naps in day time. I'd start talking about something to someone, they'd look at me like I was crazy, then I'd realize that the event I was trying to discuss happened in a dream.
