Vax for the win?
« on: June 15, 2021, 01:59:20 PM »
To my fellow Californians: have any of you won? lol

https://covid19.ca.gov/vax-for-the-win/

Wife and I got vaccinated back in May. It's too bad our kids are underage (at least for now.... they're 5 and 4) - we could really use $1.5mm to buy a nice piece of overpriced real estate down here :P

WA is doing something similar with an equally terrible name, "Shot of a Lifetime"

False advertising.  Isn’t it going to be an annual shot?  That could end up bankrupting the state.

It's not clear yet what boosters will be needed.  Right now flu is annual, pertussis is 2-3 years, and tetanus is 10 years.  But if people are going for boosters it will be a lot easier to arrange than the clinics are now.  At least here the Covid clinics are maintaing strict biosecurity measures, which is expensive and time consuming.  Even last year's flu clinics had to be more expensive than usual because of all the biosecurity.

I'm just pissed off that I got my shot ASAP instead of waiting for the free weed.

‘Vax 2 The Max’ is the awkward name chosen in New Mexico. $5 million grand prize and roughly 1 million eligible to win it right now. Way better odds than Powerball and I didn’t even have to pay for a ticket.

Dang, I am also a federal worker, so no bennies : (.
I hate gambling, lotteries in general. But this is a good use for one. 1 mill is nothing for a state budget.

Joints for Jabs!! Wow, it just keeps getting better. It's too bad researchers couldn't discover that Marijuana is the most holistic way to get rid of COVID...

Another New Mexican here. This was exactly my thought when this lottery was announced- good odds!

Of course, this is an early study, and more research needs to be done - particularly more research that tests this theory on actual human subjects with COVID-19 related ARDS. The authors point out that “obviously, more studies are required to expand and validate this therapeutic strategy.”

These guys should team up with "Joints 4 Jabs" to roll the research out... of course...

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
