UGHHHH....THE CUBS

No longer on the ledge.  Just needed to vent.  Wake me up when pitchers and catchers report.  We better sign Jason Heyward or I may have to return to said ledge.  That is all.

Cards fan in Chicago. Last night was... rough. I was an unpleasant person. But, to be fair, our pitching staff was not great (Lackey on short rest, Martinez out, Wain-o only good for 2-3 innings, Siegrist-being-Siegrist, etc.) and the Cubs offense was dominant. Our injuries caught up with us, and the Cubs kept up their recent winning streak. That's playoff baseball.

I'll follow the Cubs through the playoffs, just because I want to see the city's reaction (a bartender friend of mine has said that bars in Wrigleyville are instituting early closes to make sure shit doesn't get too outta hand).

But yeah. As someone who doesn't follow football, basketball, or hockey, I guess I'll just have to catch EPL games when I can until spring training. A 100 win season and the prospect of a healthy Wain-o, Martinez, and Yadi will keep me happy until then.

(+1 on Heyward.)

I feel your pain. We (I should say they, I am not on the team) did really well this year for the amount of injuries we had. Lackey's game 1 was fantastic, Jaime should have given us a much better game 2 and we'd have been going to game 5, we made Arietta look human in game 3, and we never were really blown out. There is a lot of good, but sadly we were the best team in baseball record wise and our season is over :(. Luckily next year should be very good with all the returning talent!

There is a lot of outfield depth but I agree, sign Heyward!
