Tragic: 19 Lost to fire
« on: July 01, 2013, 12:27:32 AM »
As a former wildland firefighter, and someone with two brothers and many friends still in the business, I was deeply saddened to hear the news of such a large loss of life. May these men/women rest in peace and may the rest of the fire season be without additional tragedy.

Very sad day indeed. As a former Mendocino IHC crewmember, this one hits close to home. I worked with this crew on a fire up in Oregon several years ago now. Very unfortunate.

I heard this on the new coming home tonight :(   Australians are familiar with the personal costs of bushfires. I have family members who are volunteer firefighters.  To lose 19...touches a raw spot.

OH wow... just saw this for the first time.  Ugh.  I'm stunned.

I fought forest fires many years ago, and it was no joke.  This is absolutely tragic.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
