Things I need to make my life better
« on: September 29, 2023, 09:37:41 AM »
I like toe socks but I hate having to turn them right side out after they've been washed. Why can't I have toe socks that are double sided so they are never wrong side out?

I need a bike helmet that will scratch my head for me. Invariably I get an itch on my scalp that I can't reach through the vent holes.

My Dickies socks are "double-sided". The inside might have a few strands, but I can put them on and not worry. And if I don't tell my brain they're inside out, then Pink Floyd's "Wearing the Inside Out" won't automagically play in my mind.

Yes, need a bike helmet scratcher. Or the ability to have fingers/nails that can extend and retract on demand.

Punching bag. Been 10+ years and I could use the meditative break it provides. Ordering a dumpster to clear all the crap out of my garage and get it set up.

You could pull your socks off more carefully so that they go into the wash right side out.

But some people prefer to have the “outside” next to their feet because it’s smoother.

Knitters can make socks where the smooth side is against the bottom of the foot.  They also make socks that don't have that nasty seam across the top of the toes.

Time to learn to knit?

I go to a boxing gym (not for the boxing, it's a long story) that has, over in a corner -- fenced off, just in case, a heavy bag strictly for use with bats. There are two to choose from.  I cannot adequately describe just how cathartic it is to occasionally go over to the corner, close the gate (it's so if the bat goes flying it won't hurt anyone or anything) and just freaking go to town on the bag.

(In fact there have been one or two political events in the past few years that have resulted in the gym owner looking at people's faces as they walk in the door and saying "bat bag". We literally beat a bunch of the filling out of the bag the day .... well, on that one day.)

I need a sound proofed place to work.

I'm literally currently building one on one of my homes, but that doesn't solve it for my other home, which is an apartment.

I probably need to rent an office a few days a week, which sucks because with my injuries, I prefer to work in bed/on a big cozy sofa. Not a frickin' desk.
