I have an irresistable urge to knit baby bonnets and booties! Apart from a couple of sulky right wing commentators, there is a general air of happiness and goodwill around the country.
Also a sense of gratitude that we largely have compassionate and sensible politicians (and their partners). No one wearing I Dont Care coats round here.

Yes.   Not all that new, then Crown Princess Juliana of the Netherlands had her daughter Margriet in 1943 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.  The Canadian government proclaimed the hospital's maternity suite "extraterritorial" so that the royal baby would have full Dutch citizenship.
