I accidentally tore a leg from a grasshopper (I don't kill spiders, I pick them up by one leg and put them outside. This doesn't work with a grasshopper, you'll grab his leg, he'll hop away from you, you'll still be holding that leg, oops).
I traveled solo as a woman in Europe, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt (only free time without the group), New Zealand and Australia.
Got lost in Cairo, alone, ended up in a neighborhood that very little tourists have seen. Went to look for crocodiles in the jungle in Mexico with a guide, I wanted to see a real one.
I have a rare condition HSD/ EDS, I can do tricks and put a dislocated joint back myself (most of them).
And I think I'm probably the only one that rolled back over a bit of a slope, to end up face down at the bottom of a ditch with stinging nettles and gooseberry branches, with a wheelchair on my back like I was some kind of turtle.
As to savings
- I ate wild mushrooms that grew in my front yard.
- I kept the salt from salty sticks (straight pretzels) that was left in the bag or bowl after finishing them. To use that salt in winter to defrost a path. Husband thought it was a tad too much.
There must be more but I can't think of it now
