Ugh - we're having a sustained heavy downpour in my area of Houston and I'm watching the water creep up the driveway toward my and my neighbors' cars. The curb and sidewalk are completely covered. I'm having a bit of flashback from Harvey flooding and trying to tamp down the anxiety. According to the radar we are supposed to get a break close to noon, and a couple of hours to drain before we get walloped again. Meanwhile, I am watching from my balcony as SUVs push through the river/road in front of my place, and send waves up the driveway.

I feel for you, OP. If you're having anxiety and flashbacks I encourage you to talk with someone. It's totally normal to have mild PTSD after going through a natural disaster. I hope your neighborhood stays dry.

I didn't get flooded in Harvey but the water only needed to rise another 10 feet or so to get me. I broke down and got flood insurance this year.

Luckily I live in a second floor unit so I'm not worried about my belongings and I doubt the water will make it to the first floor unit, as it didn't during Harvey. My Harvey flooding experience was in a different neighborhood, in the Meyerland area. I just have to keep reminding myself this is not Harvey - this is not Harvey...
