Quadcopter love

Ok, I just bought a couple of nano quad copters (Syma X12).

My have things changed since I was a kid.   This little drone is about the size of a half dollar and has a 6 axis gyroscope for stable flight, a decent full size remote with trims and was $23 shipped from Amazon!

When I was a child, $23 *might* get you a cheap wired remote control car with forward and reverse turn.

I may have to get more into drones even if it isn't mustachian.

Drones will soon be apart of daily life very soon.   Might be a good business opportunity for you.

A bunch of engineers at work including myself bought proto X mini quadcopters for $30 and they were so much fun. I say were because they are all broken but they survived 100s of crashes and were absolutely worth the price.

Yes, the proto X is similar in size to the Syma X12, but the Syma has a longer range, large Xbox looking controller and was cheaper!

The proto X is supposed to be a better indoor flyer though.  I haven't really crashed the Syma X12 yet (if you don't count drops from a few inches high) but it seems pretty sturdy.   I think the most likely failure item is going to be the tiny motors...they have to be overdriving those lol.

But I agree that drones present a lot of new job opportunities: drone pilots/operators, drone repairers, drone manufacturers, sharp shooters to take them out when they go rogue and start shooting laser beams at yappy little dogs.

Rogue. If it can happen to the Christmas Drone, it can happen to all of them :-)! http://www.bkmag.com/2014/12/09/mistletoe-drone-goes-rogue-attacks-reporter/

I'm just saying, a service that shoots yappy dogs "by accident" might be very successful.
