oh, Facebook....
« on: January 31, 2016, 11:18:40 AM »
I took an 'improve your news feed' survey hoping there'd be an option in there to express my displeasure with Facebook constantly changing from 'most recent' to 'top stories' -- and got this:

I was amused. :P

You'll have to tell us how things went down at the Tropicana.  Did you turn that $10 into $20... or $100?

hah.

Was there an option for "neither of these, leave me alone with ads for things that aren't posts from friends/family?"

:P

NO! I got most of the way through picking friends/family/things-I-care-about over ads...then it gave me an option of two different ads. Fuckers. :|

A thousand times this!  I took the same survey hoping to explain my similar frustration.

Use the social fixer browser extension or equivalent to change that back to default to most recent.

You didn't really expect them to give a "let us make less money" option did you? You're the product that Facebook sells to their advertisers after all.

I don't see how changing from 'most recent' to 'top stories' all the time lets them make more money.

Fortunately, arebelspy's solution is brilliant.
