New Forum To Visit - Amazon's Gold Box Forum
« on: January 23, 2015, 04:10:06 PM »
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Seems legit.  Who needs the MMM forums anymore?
I need this forum of loosely moderated but like minded posts with solid content.

That other forum adds no value to my world.
It is a spouting geyser of useless foam.
It is like an empty echo chamber for lost souls of the insane to see themselves in print.
It is so bizarre that it has lost even entertainment value.

Of course YMMV.
I intend no offense to any posters or readers of that forum, but if anyone is following that forum...could you chime in on what benefit it is?

Yeah, I was kidding. I don't get it either.

You also lose the sense of community, I'd think.

What's not to get? It's less of a community than, say, here, but that's what some people want. A way to kill time that they perhaps conveniently discovered before any other option.

Hardly any different from Topix or Craigslist forums in content, and there are many more as well.

I guess it's like how I don't get YouTube comments. It seems like shouting into the void.

I don't get the entertainment factor, thus why someone would post there.

... you don't like shouting into the void?

Sometimes the void shouts back!

Yeah, but the void never stays on topic.  It's like reading random thoughts from the ninth circle.  Impossible to follow.   I've had better luck with a Ouija board.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
