Saw this movie at the theater last night and found it moving and sad. I was a massive INXS fan in high school and literally wore out my cassettes of their music.
MH was so magnetic on stage, and to this day I still think he’s the sexiest front man, ever. Sigh. I now know why I have a thing for long, dark, curly hair.
But, he was inherently an upbeat, gentle person. He didn’t get messed up until after the accident that caused his traumatic brain injury. That’s the part I found so terribly sad. His downfall wasn’t a cliche rockstar descent into drugs. His TBI damaged him severely, those closest to him didn’t know about it, and he made bad choices.
If you see the movie stay for the features at the end. It’s a great lesson in suicide prevention, brain injuries, and mental health.
