MMM site experiencing growing pains?

I've been getting "server too busy," random 404 errors and time out/server taking too long to respond type of errors pretty frequently this week. It started happening somewhat late last year, but it's happening about every other visit now (and I come here daily just about).

Thinking it may be the increased popularity of the site, and wasn't sure there was something anyone can do (other than get larger/faster servers).

Just hate the idea that new readers might get turned off by the errors and leave.

I have been having the same issues--for the last couple of weeks, including this morning.

Per that link, there has been a lot of traffic lately.  I've noticed the errors, too.  Strangely, I've been logged out a few times a well, which had never happened to me before.

I just posted in that link and told them to delete this one if it is distracting.

Another forum I belong to went through similar growing pains and ended up having to majorly upgrade their servers to keep up with the amount of visitors. It was brutal for a few weeks, but works beautifully now and there was a major speed boost as well. But they also had sponsors footing the bill for the $$$ servers!
