Just wanted to share with fellow MMM people: I checked my Honda VIN number online and saw a message that my car is on the airbag recall list and that I should wait until I receive an official letter to schedule the repair. I called one dealer who said they don't have the parts yet. I took my car in for an oil change (only $20 with coupon) at another dealer and told them I was really concerned about this since my very short 17 year old sits close to the steering wheel and could they disconnect the airbag pending repair. The service guy than said he would check my VIN and a minute later he said he could have the part tomorrow for the repair. I'm not sure what the full story is (I'm guessing they have repair parts, but not yet enough for all the cars that need them) but if you go and express your concern you may be able to get the repair now. One less thing to worry about.
