Which part?
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

When I first joined the forums, I thought it was Are-Belspy, which I found confusing. Not A-Rebel-Spy. Perhaps that is what the OP is wondering?

I've used this screen name since about 1996, and very very few people figure it out right away.  The mind naturally groups the first three letters into "are."

As far as my sig, the first is a quote I like, the second part and picture is from this Strongbad Email: http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail87.html

Also moving thread to Off Topic.

I bet most Southerners see it immediately; I did. For better or worse, we're constantly exposed to the word "rebel..."

I still call him "AIR-a-BELL-spee" and that's how it's gonna stay.

Close real life friends who have known me for over a dozen years call me that in person, so you aren't alone.  :D

I think MMM capitalizing it ARebelSpy in some posts helped some figure it out.

It's Russian for spy.  You need an enigma machine to crack the code.

Yep, that's the part I was curious about.

Re your name, in my mind it was pronounced 'Arble Spee' until MMM spelled it out for us.

Being from the south, I also immediately saw it as A Rebel Spy... Interesting to me that so many people don't see it.

Unfortunately, we are exposed to quite a few rebel flags around here. Actually, one of the schools in my county are "The Rebels" with a soldier waving the stars and bars being the mascot. Has started to cause a few issues and they're debating giving them a new mascot.

Took me a couple times to parse the name when i first started reading. I figured his name was a Star Wars reference.

Who doesn't love having their voice compared to James Earl Jones?

This is so unreal.
I was thinking about ppsting about my breakthrough in realizing that Air-a-bell-spee was actually 'a rebel spy' thing earlier this week but thought I would sound like a doofus so I decided to keep it to myself.
Then I stumble upon this thread.

Thanks for making me feel less doofusy, guys.

Someone mentioned that you hit 5,000 posts.  I was feeling pretty cool getting my Magnum title at 250, until reading that.  Congrats and thanks for all that you do.  I met MMM in Seattle and he was very thankful and complementary of all of your involvement on the forums.

Well thanks for all that you do! I have to go trim up my Magnum!
