Speyside Elgin Classic
Single Malt Scotch Whisky
To those of you who poo-pooed last night's Laphroaig, it is some kind of international Scotch day per facebook. So I'm trying something less smoky. Mild peat. You can taste the Chardonnay and oak from the cask it was finished in.
*sip*

That's one of the very first speyside whisky I've had and showed me it's not all smoke and salt out there.
I think they have a peated version too.

Would you recommend? I was considering this one after I finish my current bottle of rye but mostly because of the price and that sexy bottle.

It is a cute scotch. The first sip is a little astrigent but it improves from there. Recommended for the price. I swear I taste a hint of a yeast roll. I know there is no wheat in scotch. Maybe they use some bread yeast in fermentation?!?

I actually like Laphroaig but I also like to make fun of it
For my part, I'm drinking a $5 Cabernet
