Getting out of Massage Envy Contract

Earlier this year (Jan) I signed up for a 12mo Massage Envy Contract. (Why? I have a bad back/shoulders and it helps; when I have the right person but I'm new to town and didn't know any better #buyersremorse)

I figured I'd toss it out there to see if anyone has successfully done this. I've done the internet searching and only came up with success for folks on a month to month auto-draft; not the 12mo contract like me.

I went in and asked for cancellation and got a 6mo freeze. But in 6mo; our 2nd child is coming! So...anyone ever get out of this contract? :)

Since you will be expecting when the contract returns to active status, would a doctor's note not suffice to remove you from the membership?

There's this thing called a backbone. Sounds like you misplaced it.

Here's basically what you did:
You: I'd like to cancel my contract please
Company: I'll give you a 6 month freeze instead
You: um, ok?

Here's what you need to do:
You: I'd like to cancel my contract please
Company: I'll give you xx instead
You: No thank you, I would like to cancel the contract. Please process that.

Also, facepunch for getting a year long contract for massages.

Whats a 6 month freeze?  And is there some kind of auto renewal clause or can you just walk away at 12 months?

You signed a legal binding document without anyone putting a gun to your head. Suck it up and pay for it. Lesson learned.

Haven't we learned anything from the current political climate?  Rules are for weak losers.  Just stop paying them.

Did you pay up front?  Then you shot yourself in the foot.
