How do you like them cooked?

I don't have enough posts around here for my opinion to matter, but I'm a firm believer in the natural progression of a conversation-even if it strays from the title of the post. I know forum software allows us to place everything in neat little boxes, but that doesn't mean we have to. If someone is looking for something specific, they can use the search function and find direct answers quickly-no need to force us all to comply with silly rules.

I've seen perfectly useful forums get killed by overmoderation and too many sub-forums. I'd hate to see that happen here.

I should have had eggs this morning instead of pastries-now I'm already hungry again.

Hm. No one is telling me how they liked their eggs cooked. Now, I am completely enraged!

Many pastries have eggs in them.

Eggs are like bonds.  They can be an ingredient, but they shouldn't be the MAIN ingredient.

Eggs are the featured player in tamagoyaki (Japanese sweet omelette):

Well on that particular day, I gently sautéed freshly picked kale and garlic fronds in butter and macadamia nut oil in a small skillet, added two lightly beaten eggs to make an omelette. When it was golden brown I flipped it and put cheese on.  Then folded it in half and served.  Bon appetit.  I am fond of such omelettes, using veges at hand or fresh picked from the garden. I venture out in my nightdress and scuffs to pick whatever, but this adds to the richness of the ritual overall....

We apologize for the thread hijacking. Those responsible have been sacked.

We apologize again for the thread hijacking. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.

A moose once bit my sister...

Yeah, but a moose and her calf ate my niece's flowers!

I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Starring: Ralph the Wonder Llama

Seriously, though, I think nobody here minds being a pedant and saying, "So, back to what the OP was asking..." if they have something on-topic to add.  Otherwise I think the OP can assume everyone who had something germane to their personal situation to say has contributed.

If the threadjack convo takes off while there is still a healthy on-topic discussion, that can get confusing, and I think it's reasonable to ask people to start their own thread.  But, it takes two to threadjack (or something) and the original person making an offhand comment probably didn't know it was going to get so much response.

And people seem pretty good about not threadjacking journals.
