Landing a robot on a comet in deep space

Came across this in the news today - this is really cool. Thought the engineers and mathematically inclined in the forum would appreciate the precision of the scientists' calculations!

It's harpoons didn't fire though so it bounced and relanded in the wrong position/orientation. Cool stuff though :)

I saw it this morning, only on our ABC was it covered in depth. Commercial networks steer well clear of science. It's not in keeping with their regular hollywood/celebrity segments.

Were I not an accountant I'd be an astronomer. Loved the astrophysics part of high school physics.

Ever since hearing the news I've been waiting for the people in charge to demand 1 billion dollars or they'll send the comet on a collision course towards the Earth.
