I used to play it a lot.  I started playing Dota in 2005 and switched to dota 2 when it came out.  Fun game to play.  Very fun to watch on the professional level as well.  Though I haven't really played in almost a year.

Ya, I've watched some of the pros too, it's pretty amazing how good they are. I love that the game is 100% free. The only thing you can buy is different "equipment" for heroes which changes how they look and has literally zero impact on the game itself. Definitely not a case where those who pay $$ have an advantage.
