If the system isn't working, it should be changed to reach the outcome(s) desired.  On the other hand, how the Biden administration handled it, it was an ongoing disaster.  Unfortunately, even if one party puts forth new legislation on a key issue, the other party seeks to sabotage it or is unwilling to find common ground for a reasonable way forward.  I've seen this from both parties and as long as our elected officials continue this way, we won't make meaningful progress.

The failure of immigration is squarely a Republican accomplishment.  Biden admininistration tried very hard to improve how immigration was handled. There were a number of bipartisan immigration bills, killed by Trump's followers. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/25/politics/gop-senators-angry-trump-immigration-deal/index.html

More contracts that simply ran their course being counted as "savings"

As far as I'm concerned, both parties are to blame for our present situation.
The best question for "both parties" arguments is: let's agree that both parties have blame. What percentage of blame for how MAGA acts do you assign to MAGA and what percentage do you assign to Democrats or non-MAGA if you prefer? I'm gonna go with 98.5% MAGA myself.

Last Tuesday at the VA we had 100s of contracts abruptly canceled. Often bc doge didn't like the name but doesn't understand or even ask anyone who are using these contracts, what they are for, what are the implications if they lapse. We were locked out of a program that was in active data collection. We were given a reprieve. But the way this is being done is not sensible.

Some DOGE staffers are getting six figure salaries from the agencies they are "cutting".

How long before the DOGE website gets pulled? A couple weeks at most?

There's no need to pull it if you just steadfastly keep repeating lies from it.  The truth has never before gotten in the way of one of Trump's schemes, I doubt this will be the first time it does.

We need to lobby for DOGE to eliminate itself.

Bank of America's analysis on DOGE's latest claims. As usual, more bad accounting and outright lies from the administration's senior embezzler.
