I know - so sad. Such a great career though. I never found his comedy routines that funny (amusing though), but his comedic acting was so damn good - both Newhart shows, Elf, The Big Bang Theory come to mind immediately.

Yes!  What would a Big Bang reunion be without an appearance by Professor Proton??

Marshall died Thursday of kidney failure at his home in Los Angeles, his publicist Harlan Boll said.

I loved the OG Hollywood Squares!

Hmm - one of their hits was turned into a great Weird Al parody.

Quite a streak of deaths lately.

Aw, that’s too bad.  No new Downton Abbey stuff (barring use of AI).  She was in absolutely tons of things.  Great long career.

Obviously, a music legend, but I have a personal fondness for this weird, moody little indie noir that he was in.

John Amos, James Evans Sr. On Good Times, died at age 84.

Probably my favorite role is Cleo McDowell in Coming to America.

Frank Fritz, of American Pickers, died at age 60.

Same! Have been on an Agatha movie kick.  It was so wild to watch that movie with her as an amazing sassy, seductive, and sophisticated character and then watch Maggie Smith's age triple as the elderly Wendy in Hook less than a decade later.

He was basically an outcast when he lost the election to Reagan, wasn't he?  I always thought he paid a too heavy price for trying to tell Americans to conserve.

It was more his foreign policy that doomed him.  Remember, Iran released their US hostages on Reagan's inauguration day; their 444th day in captivity.

Yes, because Reagan committed treason by secretly negotiating with the Iranians to keep the hostage crisis going until after the election.

Yes, the coincidence is too glaring to be ignored.  If it was in a movie, it would be panned as too obvious.

While I loved Twin Peaks, most of David Lynch’s films were too disturbing for me.

I remember seeing Bob Uecker (former baseball player turned sportscaster) on talk shows, he was quite funny and really seemed to enjoy life.

I loved those Miller Lite commercials with Bob. They were hilarious. Growing up, our family always used the line "I must be in the front row" lol.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
