I bet there's a lot of people on there.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

I have played on the free internet chess server since it was only available in ASCII (and when it had a different name). Love to play, especially with like minded folks. Let me know if you are ever on and up for a game.

Not really elegant, but I think the 2/1 format makes for some bad choices if you aren't an expert.

Hah, so many ridiculous things.  I love the beginning, as the king gets chased around half the board.

And ends up right back where he started!  I was just sitting there chuckling at my inability to trap him out in the middle.

I haven't played online in years but we have a group that meets at the coffee house twice a week.

There are some really strong players where I live.  But I enjoy the games as we all have differing styles of play.  I lean toward the Tal and Shirov for inspiration.  Another guy plays very solid like Botvinnik and Petrosian.  Another guy is a big Capablanca fan.

Just when we think we are getting good, there is a local FIDE Master who shows up and wipes the floor with us!  He's rated ~2400 ELO.  (I look at it as free chess lessons.)

Good times.
