Title: Carnival Cruise - Hurricane Irma
Post by: Jane Dough on September 08, 2017, 08:37:04 AM
Do you want to hear a funny story? We are booked on a Carribean cruise departing Saturday from Miami to San Juan,Grand Turks, St Kitts and St Martin.Skipped the trip insurance as it would be a hefty 25 percent add-on. Don't you think they would cancel and give everyone refunds? They began by delaying the cruise until presently its delayed until Tuesday with a completely different itinerary. This was so they could avoid giving out refunds. If we accept a credit towards a future cruise we will be going to Alaska on our last ever Carnival cruise. BTW we boarded up our home in Broward county and evacuated on Wednesday.

Yikes.  Jose is going to be tearing through the Bahamas soon as well.

Stay safe and good luck to you and your family!

First, I love your screen name!

Second...not surprised. Unfortunate for the passengers.

Carnival's cancelled (https://www.carnival.com/travel-alerts.aspx) a number of cruises, and full refunds are automatically given.  If yours has been shortened, you have two choices:  take the cruise and they'll pro-rate the refund, or you can ask for a future cruise credit for the full amount.

It's hurricane season; I'm not sure what else they can do.
