I often have to remind myself of this sketch when talking to my teenagers, to avoid turning into this
 (no central heating, no inside toilet in our house when I was a kid, no car, no internet, three channels on tv and one we weren't allowed to watch because it had adverts etc...)

While not quite as good as the original, the update with Harry Enfield, Alan Rickman, Eddie Izzard, Vic Reeves is still hilarious. Just watching them trying not to bust out laughing is funny.

Love it!!  Thanks for the link.  And cerat0n1a ... kudos on making it through that.

I wonder what today's tales of hardship will sound like in the future.  (We had to share a basic data plan and a 3-year-old cellphone with a cracked screen ...)

In any case, we know enough to count our blessings because we have friends with family members in certain countries where there are some serious issues, by any standards past or present.

By comparison ... we live in luuuuxury

My 21-year-old niece couldn't believe there were public pay toilets back in the day.
I should say, she wouldn't believe, till she saw one of those things on Facebook, those memes like, "Remember these?" with a photo of a pay toilet.
