I've got a friend who's into it and I've gone along a few times. She didn't spend anywhere near that on her detector. She had a few good places, like parks and fields after events like markets. She found a lot of coins. The beach was quite interesting. Mainly found rubbish, but a couple of old bits of jewellery, not worth anything but still we found treasure.
