I would be hard-pressed to find an instance where Betteridge's Law of Headlines applies more strongly than it does here.

I agree with the headline (haven't read the article). Having too much money in tax-advantaged accounts can ruin early retirement dreams - if you don't have the cash flow to fund your lifestyle despite lots of savings that happens to be tied-up until you're 65 or whatever the withdrawal age is would be a nightmare.

There's no such thing as your money being tied up.  There are ways around it all.  Of course you still have to pay taxes.  Essentially the more you can have in a tax advantage account the better off your are. You pay less taxes now, and ideally you should be paying lower taxes in retirement.

The yahoo article is ridiculous and is just a grab at page views.
