I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Interesting, but I think MMM's comment got most of the critics wrong.  It's not "work 'til you're 65", it's work (moderately) all your life at something you enjoy.  IOW, retirement is being reassigned - unwillingly! - to the golf course, AKA garbage heap.

This is actually a pretty good article on ER. I think I'll save this and refer non-Mustachian types to it instead.

The writer did a good job.  He actually went on the ERE forums and talked to some people before writing it.

Yeah, I think it was a fair and balanced article.

I've been hesitant to tell more people about our Mustache lifestyle because of the flack we've been getting from the people that we have told, but I took a gamble and shared this article on my facebook page and I got a lot of nibbles from friends. They seemed to really like the idea and will probably start asking me positive questions about it. It definitely is a good article to introduce the idea to other people.

There are approximately two people who commented on that article who don't have tiny minds. That's disappointing.

Good article though.

I thought the article was very well written and presented the possibilities of stepping away from our consumer-culture in a way that anyone can understand.

I agree, but articles like this plant a seed in someone's head that there is another way. The link to a hacker news discussion on MMM last week was the same way -- mostly naysayers who thought they knew better -- but I bet at least a few people opened their eyes.

You make $500/month in blog ad revenue? Would you be interested in writing a how-to? I've always wanted to try this.

That was a great article. An excellent introduction to the concept.

Pretty good article! The author presented great arguments people are making for and against early retirement without being too contentious. Should spark some discussion from people who are new to the concept
