MMM maintains a blogroll, but he's built such a great forum community that we've also got scores of great bloggers right here in the forums. Many of the authors here respond to PMs and are on the forums quite often, so I've linked their forum profiles as well. Click the link on the name in order to send a blogger a personal message through the MMM forum software. These are a bunch of great writers, and all of them deserve a read!

• Bakari is The Flamboyant Introvert of Biodiesel Hauling. You can start here, if you like. Bakari writes:

  I question things which people take for granted. I would have been that kid who said the emperor was naked. In real life that kid would probably have been lynched, but I'll take my chances... I believe truth inherently valuable, no matter how well intentioned the ideology it dispels may be. I also write about random interesting things from my personal life.

  I love reading Bakari's blog because I disagree with him so often politically and can so easily understand his point of view anyway - he's actually helped change my mind about quite a few things. But there are also apolitical posts like the phenomenal buying bikes from craigslist guide and a summary of his sweet frugal business model. Bakari is also the main contributor of Ecomodder's blog, which is inactive.
• Nords writes The Military Guide to Financial Independence and Retirement blog and associated book. You can start here if the inclination strikes you. The Military Guide to FI is a great place to learn about the benefits of a military career as they pertain to FI, and the author even delves deep into research for reader questions like this one. But even if you have no interest in ever serving in the military, Nords has great advice for starting and growing blogs and hysterical sea stories from his submarining days.
• James Collins runs an eponymous blog, JLCollinsNH. Describing his blog, James writes

• I.P. Daley (get it?) is the Tech Meshugana. There are posts about using technology cheaply - like how to save money with an iPhone - but also posts about using technology responsibly and knowing when not to buy. If you find yourself questioning whether you get more out of your smartphone than the time and money you spend on it, Daley's site will help you untangle things and think more critically about your little electronic frenemy. If you're in over your head, he also takes reader questions. You can also find the Frugality Superwiki and Shopping hut.
• Making Sense of Cents writes an eponymous blog, Making Sense of Cents.
• Mr. and Mrs. POP run Planting Our Pennies.
• madgeylou writes a Be Less Crazy blog, column, and book.
• Yolfer runs The Foundry in the Forest. Reviewer Gin1984 writes

  Urban Frugalistic lifestyle-changing your mindset, Work to earn. Earn to save. Save to invest. Love his “frugal school” with his book recommendations.  Good beginners blog.  Host of the Seattle “Camp Mustache”.
• Kudy has Monetary Musings. Gin1984's take: "Is a blog about ways Kudy side hustles and changes her life to save money."
• Widerhaken runs Boy Goes Home. Gin1984 says

  Boygoeshome is a blog about a small town boy who moved to the big city coming home and how he is doing it both fiscally and personally.  Since he bought a short sale that was about to be foreclosed this is a great blog for those who want to start in real estate.  He also dabbles in stock picking which I find interesting but beyond my current fiscal situation so it may be better for the more experienced investor.  Basically he has something for everyone.
• Cdub writes at Mortgage Payoff Club. Gin1984 notes

  Blogging towards a Debt & Mortgage Free Life as a way of pushing the blogger to pay down the mortgage early.  He wants to pay at least 750/month to pay it off like a 15 year mortgage but is trying to even better than that.  Looking for support from the blogging community.
• Woodpecker writes A Good Day to Live. Gin1984's take:

  A german man looking for FI and he describes his blog theme the best“I want to find a way to live as much of my life as possible in a happy and fulfilling way. In a way I determine – without my bosses, a low bank-account, the state, the society and other annoying people interfering. And I am determined to do it now and here and not at some maybe-later-point-in-time when I am retired or old or found an oil-well in my garden or something.”  Not as extreme as MMM but looking for what works for him.
• Erica runs NWEdible. You can start here; Jordanread's thoughts:

  At it's most general, this is a blog about food. With posts going back to January 2011, the author (Erica) writes about her experiences creating a suburban homestead. Grow your own food using her gardening tips, handle scraps with a backyard chicken flock, and then use some of the seasonal recipes to turn those gardening goods into incredible and tasty dishes. Last week, I discussed causes, symptoms, and treatments for the disease Consumerism. Here's an excerpt:

Consumerism is characterized by an unhealthy and sometimes excessive focus on material goods and services that provide little (or negative) real, long term value. A person afflicted with Consumerism is called a Consumerist.

Consumerists irrationally value material possessions with depreciating value greater than real, appreciating assets such as stocks. This irrationality leads to low or negative savings rates, debt, and the entrapped feeling of living “paycheck to paycheck”.

Hey Fellow Mustachians,

Long time visitor here. I read the ERE book sometime around 2011, and I was first introduced to MMM back in 2012 when Jacob passed him the proverbial FI torch.

Recently I was inspired to start my own blog, www.MyMoneyWizard.com, due to the intersecting of two simultaneous events in my life. The first happened when I logged into my bank accounts and realized my frugal ways left me as a 25 year old with $100,000, and the second involved watching most of my 20-something peers start down the quick path to financial destruction.

My money philosophy is a little less hardcore than MMM. So while MMM may urge you to never buy anything, I'll show you how to get the best deal if you have to. But rest assured, years of frugal reading have left the FI/ERE movement deeply ingrained in me, so I'll also be doling out plenty of face punches when needed. ;)

The tone I'm going for is slightly more professional than what I use on the Anti-Mustachian Wall of Shame and Comedy (fewer F-bombs) but I'm just as politically incorrect, opinionated, and offensive, but at the same time human nature is pretty hilarious. I write about the issues facing residential landlords, ranging from law to history to human nature. The goal is partly to inform and partly to entertain.

Well, after 10 years of writing crap, I finally decided to go ahead and buy a real URL.


So, (while the old links should continue to work), I am no longer at "biodieselhauling.blogspot.com", which had nothing to do with the log content anyway and was just a legacy from the fact that my original blog was hosted on my buisness website's server.
