MMM maintains a blogroll, but he's built such a great forum community that we've also got scores of great bloggers right here in the forums. Many of the authors here respond to PMs and are on the forums quite often, so I've linked their forum profiles as well. Click the link on the name in order to send a blogger a personal message through the MMM forum software. These are a bunch of great writers, and all of them deserve a read!
This post is under construction. Please consider joining the review effort (http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/mustachianism-around-the-web/the-mmm-readers'-blogroll/msg338226/#msg338226)! And a MASSIVE thank you goes out to the kickass reviewers Gin1984 (http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=8824) and jordanread (http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=8646)! Thanks!
- Bakari (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=412) is The Flamboyant Introvert of (http://biodieselhauling.blogspot.com/)Biodiesel Hauling (http://biodieselhauling.blogspot.com/). You can start here (http://biodieselhauling.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/what-to-read.html), if you like. Bakari writes:
I question things which people take for granted. I would have been that kid who said the emperor was naked. In real life that kid would probably have been lynched, but I'll take my chances... I believe truth inherently valuable, no matter how well intentioned the ideology it dispels may be. I also write about random interesting things from my personal life.
I love reading Bakari's blog because I disagree with him so often politically and can so easily understand his point of view anyway - he's actually helped change my mind about quite a few things. But there are also apolitical posts like the phenomenal buying bikes from craigslist guide (http://biodieselhauling.blogspot.com/2012/01/buying-bikes-from-craigslist.html) and a summary of his sweet frugal business model (http://biodieselhauling.blogspot.com/2012/03/mad-max-hypermiler-questions-and.html). Bakari is also the main contributor of Ecomodder's blog (http://ecomodder.com/blog/), which is inactive. - Nords (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=98) writes The Military Guide to Financial Independence and Retirement blog (http://the-military-guide.com/) and associated book (http://www.impactpublications.com/militaryguidetofinancialindependenceandretirement.aspx). You can start here (http://the-military-guide.com/start-here/) if the inclination strikes you. The Military Guide to FI is a great place to learn about the benefits of a military career as they pertain to FI, and the author even delves deep into research for reader questions like this one (http://the-military-guide.com/2013/08/12/protecting-your-military-benefits-in-a-divorce/). But even if you have no interest in ever serving in the military, Nords has great advice for starting and growing blogs (http://the-military-guide.com/2014/07/03/blogging-lessons-learned-interviews-plus-great-benefit/) and hysterical sea stories (http://the-military-guide.com/category/sea-stories/) from his submarining days.
- James Collins runs an eponymous blog, JLCollinsNH (http://jlcollinsnh.wordpress.com/). Describing his blog, James writes (http://jlcollinsnh.com/about/)
Originally this blog was intended to discuss:
Business – Life – Money
But as it and the readerships here evolved it has become mostly:
Money – Life – Business
Either way almost anything can fit if it captures my imagination and I think you might be interested. We’re just having some fun here talking about what has worked for me and what has kicked me in the ass.
You may know him from his MMM guest post (http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/05/26/guest-posting-financial-independence-23-years-later/). Some good introductory posts include James' money advice for his daughter (http://jlcollinsnh.com/2011/06/08/how-i-failed-my-daughter-and-a-simple-path-to-wealth/) and stock investing series (http://jlcollinsnh.com/stock-series/). - I.P. Daley (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=432) (get it?) is the Tech Meshugana (http://www.techmeshugana.com/). There are posts about using technology cheaply - like how to save money with an iPhone (http://www.techmeshugana.com/2013/05/how-to-save-money-with-an-iphone/) - but also posts about using technology responsibly (http://www.techmeshugana.com/2013/06/technology-and-our-privacy/) and knowing when not to buy (http://www.techmeshugana.com/2013/01/are-iphones-worth-it/). If you find yourself questioning whether you get more out of your smartphone than the time and money you spend on it, Daley's site will help you untangle things and think more critically about your little electronic frenemy. If you're in over your head, he also takes reader questions (http://www.techmeshugana.com/2013/07/ask-daley-communications-in-southwest-colorado/). You can also find the Frugality Superwiki (http://wiki.techmeshugana.com) and Shopping hut (http://astore.amazon.com/techmeshugana-20).
- Making Sense of Cents (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=4590) writes an eponymous blog, Making Sense of Cents (http://www.makingsenseofcents.com/).
- Mr. and Mrs. POP (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=1180) run Planting Our Pennies (http://www.plantingourpennies.com/).
- madgeylou (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=343) writes a Be Less Crazy blog (http://www.belesscrazy.com/), column (http://thehairpin.com/user/8810/Megan%20Dietz), and book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008B7WUWA/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&tag=belecr-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B008B7WUWA).
- Yolfer (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=1193) runs The Foundry in the Forest (http://foundryintheforest.wordpress.com/). Reviewer Gin1984 writes
Urban Frugalistic lifestyle-changing your mindset, Work to earn. Earn to save. Save to invest. Love his “frugal school” with his book recommendations. Good beginners blog. Host of the Seattle “Camp Mustache”.
- Kudy (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=516) has Monetary Musings (http://www.monetarymusings.com/). Gin1984's take: "Is a blog about ways Kudy side hustles and changes her life to save money."
- Widerhaken (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=1060) runs Boy Goes Home (http://boygoeshome.blogspot.com/). Gin1984 says
Boygoeshome is a blog about a small town boy who moved to the big city coming home and how he is doing it both fiscally and personally. Since he bought a short sale that was about to be foreclosed this is a great blog for those who want to start in real estate. He also dabbles in stock picking which I find interesting but beyond my current fiscal situation so it may be better for the more experienced investor. Basically he has something for everyone.
- Cdub (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=3531) writes at Mortgage Payoff Club (http://mortgage-payoff-club.com/). Gin1984 notes
Blogging towards a Debt & Mortgage Free Life as a way of pushing the blogger to pay down the mortgage early. He wants to pay at least 750/month to pay it off like a 15 year mortgage but is trying to even better than that. Looking for support from the blogging community.
- Woodpecker (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=937) writes A Good Day to Live (http://gooddaytolive.wordpress.com/). Gin1984's take:
A german man looking for FI and he describes his blog theme the best“I want to find a way to live as much of my life as possible in a happy and fulfilling way. In a way I determine – without my bosses, a low bank-account, the state, the society and other annoying people interfering. And I am determined to do it now and here and not at some maybe-later-point-in-time when I am retired or old or found an oil-well in my garden or something.” Not as extreme as MMM but looking for what works for him.
- Erica (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=1807) runs NWEdible (http://www.nwedible.com/). You can start here (http://www.nwedible.com/start-here); Jordanread's thoughts:
At it's most general, this is a blog about food. With posts going back to January 2011, the author (Erica) writes about her experiences creating a suburban homestead. Grow your own food using her gardening tips, handle scraps with a backyard chicken flock, and then use some of the seasonal recipes to turn those gardening goods into incredible and tasty dishes. If you have an interest in good wholesome recipes, and care about sourcing your food, or just want some advice to make those damn vegetables grow, this is the blog for you. She also has some awesome home tips and DIY projects. The blog averages >14 posts per month, although that goes up and down based on the seasons. She is based in Seattle, WA and some of the gardening tips are specific to that region, but there is a lot of general information as well. The blog is broken down into a few general categories: Gardening, Cooking, Chickens, Food Preservation, and Productive Home.
- Cookforgood (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?u=1229) cooks WildlyAffordableOrganic (http://www.cookforgood.com/blog/). You can start here (http://www.cookforgood.com/save-money/); the author writes
We can become happier, healthier, and more secure by cooking and eating real food again. Join the movement to make delicious, seasonal meals from scratch. You'll reduce your grocery bills and probably your medical bills. You'll have the joy of vibrant health and the relief of being able to eat well on even a small budget. You'll make a positive difference for yourself, your family, and for your community and planet. Go green for $5 a day or less with mostly organic or sustainably raised ingredients. Or focus on cost to save even more! Either way, you'll probably be spending less than the food-stamp allowance for someone with no other means. We can afford to eat wonderful food that is good for our bodies and for our planet. Vote with your fork for a better world.
Jordanread, the reviewer, says: From the author of Wildly Affordable Organic, the Cook For Good project was born. A healthy eating plan with a focus on locally sourced, sustainable, and/or organic food, the Cook For Good project focuses on cost-per-meal, and cooking from scratch. Meal plans, recipes, guest posts, and discussions about societal impacts of our food choices all have their place here.

Yeah, I saw that. I should get some more of these reviewed.

Anyone else interested in joining the reviewing effort?

I love reading Bakari's blog because I disagree with him so often politically and can so easily understand his point of view anyway - he's actually helped change my mind about quite a few things.
Inspired by these words, I've actually started writing again.
A post last night, another this morning, one I'm working on today, and 4 more titles / ideas to work on in the near future.
Thank you Grant

http://towardmmm.blogspot.com/ hasn't been updated in more than a year, it seems --> I'd move it to the archive
http://4hutches.blogspot.ca/ not updated since 2013

Yeah, I need to take some time and manually go through the whole list sometime soon. It's surprising how much curation it takes...
-
I havent been a mustachian for long however I have been inspired by the posts, the lifestyle and the badassity! So inspired in fact I decided to start my own blog. In this blog I write about my cash flow diaries with personal financial details in effort to to motivate me and watch it grow through the power of real estate rentals.
I urge you to create a blog on your own as well as it definitely motivates you to be better at your finances.
Check it out here:

Feel free to PM me with any questions about anything. I love MMM.

(note: grantmeaname, let me know if this is not helpful. I'm going through the list as time allows, and whenever I spot one that should go into the "archives" section I plan to mention it here. But if it's annoying rather than helping, let me know)
-
Where is that on Grant's list?
-
Oops, I followed a link on one of the blogs and didn't realize I had jumped to another website.
I removed the link above to avoid any confusion. Sorry for the mess.

This is helpful, actually. Every few months (or less often than that) I go through all the links and cull the inactive blogs, but if you notice any let me know and I'll move them!

I started a blog about 2 months ago at FIREsideBlogger.com (http://www.firesideblogger.com)
Last week, I discussed causes, symptoms, and treatments for the disease Consumerism. Here's an excerpt:
Consumerism is characterized by an unhealthy and sometimes excessive focus on material goods and services that provide little (or negative) real, long term value. A person afflicted with Consumerism is called a Consumerist.
Consumerists irrationally value material possessions with depreciating value greater than real, appreciating assets such as stocks. This irrationality leads to low or negative savings rates, debt, and the entrapped feeling of living “paycheck to paycheck”.
Always curious to hear feedback on my writing and ideas!

We live in Germany, reached Fi this year and started our blog to share our story and to spread mustachianism in Germany. Would love to see more europeans in the community: http://whatlifecouldbe.eu
Would be honoured to be on the list!

All you new folks are added. Sorry for the delay to some of you.
We're on to two posts now! Over 20,000 characters of active blog goodness!

Mine's in my signature! I'm from Toronto, work in finance, have a young son, aiming to FIRE in <5 years from now.

MMM brothers and sisters,
I would be honored and humbled (and surprised) if you would check out my new blog. My world view is largely aligned with MMM's philosophy, although of course filtered through my own lens of experience. It is my thoughts and philosophy on happiness, freedom and whatever else pops into my mind. I'm a big believer in financial freedom as a path to happiness so I think you will find something there that is helpful. Thanks and enjoy :)

I may comment on your blog, but due to my own personal comments and the like, the Red Pill means something way different than the awesomeness that you describe. Also, how can you wrap a cup of something? It's not for this thread, but I enjoyed the first few posts.

The only red pill I know about is the one Neo takes to escape The Matrix!
...and I'm as lost as you are about wrapping a cup. Thanks for visiting! :)

It's become the name of misogynist movement that was discussed recently around here. I won't put any links to clutter up this thread, but you can Google "Red Pill Philosophy" and read some of the links for more info. (Hint: Don't.)
Nice blog! :)

Hi all - my recently started blog: http://www.efficiencynerd.com/ (http://www.efficiencynerd.com/)
It's about efficiency in general, but especially in energy, money, and life in general. I may find myself echoing a lot of what MMM says, but my goal is not simply to mirror him, but to add to and give things my own twist. Check it out!

I've also got one to add to the list. :)

Two humans (and dog) discuss money, early retirement, and being happy. This often involves food experiments and adorable pictures of our pooch.

Thanks, fixed it - ugh need to get it set up to auto power cycle when down :-/ Or get new hosting...

Too lazy to write reviews, but because I want to fix the internet...not sure what the 'rules' are for when a blog becomes archive material.
If the last post was not in 2016, it's noted. I also differentiated between links that clearly no longer exist, (go to a generic bluehost page = DNE) and links that timed out when I tried to click through.

Hey Fellow Mustachians,
Long time visitor here. I read the ERE book sometime around 2011, and I was first introduced to MMM back in 2012 when Jacob passed him the proverbial FI torch.
Recently I was inspired to start my own blog, www.MyMoneyWizard.com, due to the intersecting of two simultaneous events in my life. The first happened when I logged into my bank accounts and realized my frugal ways left me as a 25 year old with $100,000, and the second involved watching most of my 20-something peers start down the quick path to financial destruction.
My money philosophy is a little less hardcore than MMM. So while MMM may urge you to never buy anything, I'll show you how to get the best deal if you have to. But rest assured, years of frugal reading have left the FI/ERE movement deeply ingrained in me, so I'll also be doling out plenty of face punches when needed. ;)
-
I don't (right now) write about FIRE or personal finance. I'm talking about mental health, self care and how that relates to weightlifting. I examine the intersection between confidence, self worth and anxiety/depression. If you'd like to include me in the list, I'm at: https://radiantselfcare.wordpress.com/ (https://radiantselfcare.wordpress.com/)
-
Mine millennialmoola.com (http://millennialmoola.com). I've been "retired" for over a year now. Traveled for six months of that. I say retired because I have about 50% of what I would need to be fully financially indepedent. I've been making up the difference with tutoring, consulting on student loans, and writing.

Hi! My blog is fairly new: it went live in June of this year. It focuses on the different issues related to renting out a room in your own home.
http://www.theliveinlandlord.com
I try to add a new post every day. The tone I'm going for is slightly more professional than what I use on the Anti-Mustachian Wall of Shame and Comedy (fewer F-bombs) but I'm just as politically incorrect, opinionated, and offensive, but at the same time human nature is pretty hilarious. I write about the issues facing residential landlords, ranging from law to history to human nature. The goal is partly to inform and partly to entertain.
-
That's OK Grim, I will insert random profanity in my head when reading your posts ;)

Well, after 10 years of writing crap, I finally decided to go ahead and buy a real URL.
So, (while the old links should continue to work), I am no longer at "biodieselhauling.blogspot.com", which had nothing to do with the log content anyway and was just a legacy from the fact that my original blog was hosted on my buisness website's server.
The new home of the Flamboyant Introvert is: randomthoughts.fyi
A tad bit more on the change here: http://www.randomthoughts.fyi/2016/08/random-thoughts-dot-fyi.html
Not coincidentally, I actually started writing again (for the first time in nearly 2 years!) just recently.
Yet to see how long this stays regular this time, but I do have a couple more already written and waiting and several ideas to write soon(ish)
-
This thread updated due to an annoying spammer, but hey, may as well take advantage! I blog about mothering the large family, homeschooling, eating well on a budget, frugality, books and habits at http://www.CarrieWillard.com
I also write about how I stay thin yet eat 6 times a day at http://www.LaSlimFemme.com

Hello all! I started my blog #MoneyGoals in January. Main focus is teaching young adults MMM ways, but also discusses minimalism, health, and happiness. Feel free to check it out!

Long-time MMM reader that just started a blog. It's part finance/money, but really more about a variety of core life-topics that go way beyond money.

I started my blog, Minimally Nerdy, after hiking the Appalachian Trail inspired me to ditch my "geek culture" consumer spending in favor of Financial Independence. I aim to help others do the same! Was just featured yesterday on Rockstar Finance! I appreciate any feedback :)

Hi all. After a hiatus from the forums for a good while I’m baaaaack. Blogrolls are a ton of work to maintain so it’ll take me a bit of time to get this one back up to speed. Luckily I’m funemployed for about three weeks so I bet I can manage it.
-
Love the MMM blog! My wife and I have been readers and followers for years. We are almost there. So we decided to start a blog called http://moneyandfire.com/ (http://moneyandfire.com/) to share some of the philosophies, tips and tricks we've learned and are still learning along the way. We are a bit older and work in the lower-paying non-profit field. Still, we are able to apply the principles and make progress toward financial independence and early retirement. Thanks, MMM!

I'm just not reading FI blogs like I used to so any effort on the blogroll is totally complementary to other things I could be spending my time on in the FI world, like reading books. Anybody wanna take this baby over? I'm thinking it'd be a lock+delete job unless you have moderator powers.

Hi,
I started blogging about early retirement in Sweden. We have relatively high taxes and cost of living, which makes early retirement a bit challenging. As in many other European countries, there is a mandatory pension system. This needs to be included in the planning.

Hi friends!
After a couple false starts, I've finally started a blog and maintained it for about 6 months now. I'm only posting 1-2 articles a month currently, but hoping to do a bit more in the future. Primarily about my journey to financial independence in Canada, but also about life and fun hacks in general!
Check it out: www.fimposter.com

I've passed my third anniversary of blogging about optimizing your financial life in Canada, and moved the site to https://optimacheap.wordpress.com/ (https://optimacheap.wordpress.com/)
My tiny regular audience seems to like recipes and travel advice, while the occasional big clump of folks who come over from MMM seem to prefer planning/investing posts.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned here, but Kitty and Piggy run an excellent blog called Bitches Get Riches (http://bitchesgetriches.com) that has a very similar energy to MMM.
