This article was pretty darn motivational. Basically, a bunch of retirees say that retirement is awesome. You have the freedom to choose your activities, you make new friends, and leaving work behind is generally positive.

Best line (obvious to everyone on this forum): "A number of readers noted that a healthy amount of self-discipline before retiring has a bigger impact afterward than most people realize."

Thanks for sharing - really enjoyed reading. 

That was an article that did a great job of simply going through the unexpected surprises (both good and bad) of retirement without feeling like there was any agenda being pushed. (i.e. FIRE-crowd or nay-sayers)

Just joined the MMM Forum - this is my first comment!  Woot woot!  I can't understand why some folks don't adjust well to retirement - there's SO much more to life than work!

I hadn't even made it to the comments section, glad you mentioned it! I went back and read them - so nice to actually read positive responses about living within your means and saving for the future. Seems like most articles that suggest you should do anything other than spend every dollar you earn are greeted with comments about how people DESERVE their $50,000 car and new iPhone every year!!!
